Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission Exam - Functions

Section 133 of the Constitution of the State defines the functions of the Commission as:
3. The commission shall not be consulted under subsection (2) on matters of reservation
in appointments for any class of permanent residents which in the opinion of the the government is under represented in the service.
- To conduct examinations for appointments to the services of the State.
- to advice to the State -
- On methods of recruitment for Civil posts.
- On the eligibility of the candidate for appointments to the Civil Services and posts and in making promotions and transfers from one service to another .
- On all disciplinary matters related with a government employee.
- Any other matter, referred to them by the governor. Except for those matters
